When I first saw Grace & Nick’s inquiry come through, I couldn’t have been more excited. These two are getting married in September and I am beyond excited to capture their wedding vision. When you book a wedding with me, you are given a complimentary engagement or boudoir session. Of course, Grace & Nick wanted to commemorate this new journey with these beautiful Philadelphia Winter Engagement Photos.
Grace & Nick’s Love Story
Grace & Nick met through a mutual friend who Grace worked with. This friend also happened to be Nick’s roommate at the time! One afternoon, there was a quick get together with Grace’s co-workers at Nick’s and his roommate’s house. Immediately him and Grace hit it off and it was almost like the universe was telling them it was fate. Since then these two love birds have been inseparable. Three years later, Nick ended up proposing to Grace on the same street of the house where they first met years ago. Essentially beginning their next chapter where the first one began! Are you crying yet, because I am….
Philadelphia Winter Engagement Photos
I love offering complimentary engagement sessions with my wedding packages for two reasons. Reason #1 is that you and your boo can become more comfortable being in front of the camera. For many of you, your engagement/wedding day can be the first time getting professional photos taken. This alone can make you so nervous & overwhelmed, trust me I get that! Your engagement photos are the practice before your big day so that you can be more in tune with yourself and conquer your photo fears. Reason #2 is that you get to meet your photographer, learn how they shoot and have a better feel of how it will be on your wedding day. Your wedding day can become one big blur and the last thing you want is a photography nightmare. Your engagement session gives you a chance to meet your photographer & become better acquainted before your wedding day.
Merchant Exchange & 18th Century Garden
Grace, Nick & I decided that the best place to start their engagement session would be at the Merchant Exchange Building. This gorgeous location is one of my favorites to shoot at for a slew of reasons. The architecture of the Merchant Exchange Building really speaks for itself and stands out in every.single.shot. It’s also near a lot of the hustle & bustle of Philly so it’s a perfect spot to stop take some photos and explore. We also made sure to stop at the 18th Century Garden. Grace & Nick really wanted to incorporate a mix of beautiful architecture and greenery, so stopping here was a MUST. Next was a pit stop at the First National Bank (don’t worry, we weren’t doing any ATM withdraws here). Similar to the Merchant Exchange Building, the First National Bank has so much beauty, history and amazing architecture that really it speaks for itself.
We ended their special day with a gorgeous sunset and we parted ways. I am so thrilled with how these photos turned out and I am so excited to capture G+N’s special day this upcoming September.
