There are definitely some of my favorite engagement locations that I love taking my couples. They are tried and true and are fan favorites for a reason! For Emily and Charles, they really wanted something summery, outdoorsy, and somewhere where they could enjoy some beautiful scenery. Typically when couples and I begin engagement planning, I will send over some helpful resources. One of those is a guide that has some of my top favorite engagement locations. One of those is Longwood Gardens. Emily and Charles immediately jumped on the opportunity and we booked their Longwood Gardens Summer engagement photos.
Prior to your engagement session, it is important to be prepared. There is some preparation that goes into making sure that your engagement photos turn out exactly how you want them. For some engagement prep tips, click here.
Longwood Gardens
Let me start off by saying I am no stranger to Longwood Gardens. In fact, it is one of my favorite locations to take my couples for their engagement photos. Longwood Gardens was built with education, art, and sustainability in mind. Over the years the land has gone through a massive transformation to become what it is today. Within Longwood Gardens there are many different areas, where each feel like you’re somewhere new. Their conservatory is home to many unique trees and flowers. This makes it one of the many main attractions within Longwood Gardens. While not only being a true horticultural masterpiece, Longwood Gardens also prides itself on education and sustainability. They want to increase awareness on how to care for and maintain plants of all different kinds.
Longwood Gardens is truly a one-of-a-kind space. This is why it is definitely a fan favorite with my couples when looking for engagement locations. Keep in mind that if you are wanting to have your engagement photos taken here, you do have to abide by their rules. You do need to purchase an admissions ticket for every person entering the gardens. Other than that, there are no permits necessary for photography/videography. Longwood Gardens Summer Engagement
Once you arrive at Longwood Gardens, you’re immediately greeted with fountains and flowers galore. Now if you know me, you know I love everything that has to do with florals and floral design. So Longwood Gardens is pure heaven. As long as you aren’t obstructing others’ views of the gardens, you can really go and take photos just about anywhere. As soon as I met Emily and Charles I just could tell have radiating their love was. These two couldn’t stop smiling at each other and they looked great while doing it!
Emily wore this blue and white floral patterned dress while Charles wore a complimenting button-up and neutral khakis. They were the perfect example of how to perfectly dress for your engagement session and I was all for it! Being naturals in front of the camera, these two absolutely killed it and their engagement photos came out absolutely perfect. Tip: If you’re wanting to use your engagement photos for wedding invitations or save-the-dates, book your engagement session WAY in advance. Your photographer will need time to edit some of your images so communicate with them prior to scheduling the date for your engagement photos.
It was amazing getting to meet Emily and Charles for the first time and I am more than excited to be capturing their wedding next May at the Philadelphia Cricket Club!
