If you had to ask me one of the best parts about my job is getting to see two different lives, families and friends come together on a wedding day. For Lainey and Alex, the blend of two cultures came together for the most beautiful Cape May New Jersey Wedding at Willow Creek Winery & Farm. A stunning ceremony, followed by a traditional tea ceremony and a night filled with dancing and celebration. It was the perfect day with all of the most amazing people.

Willow Creek Winery & Farm – Cape May Wedding Venue

Lainey and Alex had their wedding at Willow Creek Winery & Farm. It is the only winery on Cape May and makes it a sought-after wedding venue for many couples looking to have a Cape May wedding. Cape May New Jersey Wedding at Willow Creek Winery & Farm

The morning was spent with both Lainey and Alex getting ready at separate locations. Lainey is onsite at the venue in the Rose Room getting ready with her bridesmaids. While Alex, with his groomsmen getting ready at the Grand Hotel. Lainey was radiating with pure happiness as she spent the morning/afternoon enjoying the getting ready process and being in this moment. Some wedding day prep tips can be found here! I also have to give a huge shoutout to the insanely beautiful details that Lainey had as well. It was the perfect immersion into her culture and elegance and I loved every bit of it. Alex was enjoying this moment with his guys as well, having some celebration and gearing up for what lay ahead.

First Look & Portraits at Willow Creek Winery & Farm

Following getting ready, it was time for Lainey and Alex to meet face-to-face for their first look. They both made their way to Willow Creek Winery & Farm where all of the day’s festivities would take place. A touching first-look moment happened between Lainey and Alex that I will never forget. And if you’re on the fence about whether or not you should have a first look, this blog may change your mind. After their first look, we wandered through the property, sweeping through the vineyards and taking some portraits.

Cape May Wedding & Tea Ceremony

As the day progressed we were all waiting for the ceremony where Lainey and Alex were to say I do. It came and it was absolutely beautiful. Tears were flowing up and down the rows, happy ones of course. In celebration of these two coming together, everyone was overjoyed with love and happiness for the two newlyweds.

After the first ceremony, while guests were at cocktail hour Lainey and Alex had a second ceremony. A tea ceremony to be exact! The tea ceremony is conducted on the day of the wedding. Lainey and Alex, wearing traditional tea ceremony attire, serve tea to their parents, in-laws, and other family members as a symbol of binding the two families. It brings together two families and it truly brings everyone together. This symbolic moment for Lainey, Alex, and their families is one that they will never forget.

Reception

Once the cocktail hour and the tea ceremony ended, the reception started. Lainey and Alex changed back into their wedding attire and they took to the dance floor for their first dance. Speeches, cake cutting, and an open dance floor are always my favorite ways to end the night and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
