While the heat may not be my favorite thing to endure, I will do ANYTHING when it comes to photographing an amazing wedding. When Krista and Zach initially inquired, I couldn’t have been more excited with their vision. They really wanted their wedding to embody an intimate & romantic theme and let me tell you… we got just that. Keep reading if you want to see more of their beautiful Summer Wedding at the Pen Ryn Estate.
Getting Ready
We began the day with both Krista and Zach getting ready at the Courtyard Marriott here in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Usually during this time, I recommend having all of your wedding details prepped and ready to go! That way when I arrive, I can start photographing things like your wedding dress, shoes, jewelry, invitations, etc. I also recommend being conscious of the condition of your getting ready location. Usually when we are taking getting ready photos, the surrounding areas are within frame. Setting aside an area in the room where everyone can drop off their belongings makes sure that everything is clean & tidy for the camera.
Father/Daughter First Look
Let me start off by saying, there is no “wrong” way to do your wedding. That’s really the whole point of your wedding, to do whatever you want! While some may opt to do a first look with their partner, this isn’t entirely the case. First looks give the couple an opportunity to see each other and relieve some of those pre-wedding day jitters. Not having a first look builds up the anticipation for one specific moment, which also can be really special. Some couples even choose to do a first look with people that aren’t their partner! My main point is, don’t let anybody determine how your wedding day should go. Decide what you value the most and roll with it – the rest will follow after.
For Krista and Zach, they both decided to not have a first look. Instead they wanted to wait until the moment that Krista walked down the aisle… I know the anticipation was killing me! However, Krista did decide to do a first look with her dad. Let me tell you though… the tears were flowin’ and the emotions were running high.
Summer Wedding at Pen Ryn Estate
Once we recuperated from such an emotional moment, it was time for Krista & Zach to say I do. Their ceremony and reception were held at the Pen Ryn Estate. This historic riverfront estate has so much history, character and beauty and truly is one of the most beautiful PA wedding venues I’ve seen. The estate is home to the Belle Voir Manor, River’s Edge tented pavilion and the beautiful Pen Ryn Mansion. All of these venues sit on 100 private acres with gorgeous gardens and river vistas. Seriously with all of the different venues to pick from on the Pen Ryn Estate, you are sure to fall in love with one or all! If you’re looking at a wedding venue in Pennsylvania to call “the one” this might just be it.
The ceremony was next level beautiful and don’t even get me started on the gorgeous florals & and pergola. Shoutout to all of the vendors that came together to make this entire day as beautiful as it was (for a vendor list, scroll to the bottom of the blog!).
Summer Wedding Portraits
Since we were so fortunate to have some beautiful summer weather, we took full advantage of the estate and it’s gorgeous greenery. Krista and Zach were absolute naturals when it came to being in front of the camera and I couldn’t have been more obsessed. They moved so fluidly and their love radiated through my camera which is all I could ever ask for! On top of that, they look ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. My gosh, I had to pick up my jaw off the floor a few times just because of how great they both looked.
Breaking Glass, Dance Parties & Cake Cutting
So I know what you’re probably thinking… the wedding reception must have been a wild time. I am here to confirm that it indeed was. There is no beating around the bush that these wedding guests knew how to party and they knew how to do it well. Krista and Zach entered the reception area and immediately started the party. Aside from the normal doings of cake cutting and first dances, Krista and Zach really wanted to had a breaking the glass tradition. Pairing with that, they also had their wedding guests lift them on chairs for celebration of their marriage. That’s when the dance floor broke out and everyone went crazy! Of course as a photographer, this is one of my favorite moments. It’s a time where everyone get’s to let loose, have fun and be themselves which after a rather hectic day filled with so many emotions is very much needed.
I packed up my camera and left the Pen Ryn Estate knowing that I had some of the best moments. Truly it is amazing to see all of amazing memories being unfolded in front of me. It’s even more amazing being able to give my couples those memories for them to remember and cherish forever.
