If you’re looking for the definition of a true fairytale wedding, then look no further. Ashley and Nick’s wedding was filled with nothing but beauty and I am so excited to be writing this blog post right now. Keep reading to see how they turned their dreams into a reality with this Pennsylvania Wedding at Hotel Du Village.
Ashley and Nick are big fans of the great outdoors. With that being said, when it came to picking out a wedding venue they wanted to make sure that nature was a major component in their day. They wanted their wedding to be incredibly intimate and to have a venue that incorporated an outdoor space for their guests to enjoy the fall foliage. While looking at these photos you may not realize, but Ashley and Nick actually decided to have a brunch wedding. Something outside of the “traditional” scope of weddings, but far more unique and special. With a brunch wedding they were able to have a much more relaxed day. They also were able to catch up with family that they hadn’t seen due to the pandemic.
Getting Ready
Ashley and Nick decided to have their wedding at the Hotel Du Village. Hotel du Village is filled with so much beauty & elegance. It’s also located on 12 acres of land, so it was the perfect wedding venue for their vision. We started off the morning with photographing some details like Ashley’s shoes, jewelry and vow book. As she finished putting the final touches of hair & makeup, and slipped into her dress you could just feel the anticipation in the air. It was officially time for the first look. As we headed downstairs to meet Nick, it’s almost as if you could hear everyone’s hearts beating a bit louder & faster than usual.
The First Look
Next it was then time for the first look. Since the wedding was in the morning, we had the most amazing natural light and took full advantage. As Nick turned around you could see his eyes light up as he saw Ashley in her beautiful wedding dress. Everything was just perfect and it was only the beginning! After finishing their first look we decided now was the best time for some couples portraits. The sun was beaming, the weather was just *chefs kiss* and it truly felt like a fairytale popped out of a storybook. Absolutely and truly magical if you ask me.
Pennsylvania Wedding at Hotel Du Village
After soaking up this gorgeous Fall weather, we made our way to the outdoor area where the ceremony would be taking place. As wedding guests came trickling in, they were greeted with: coffee, hot chocolate, hot cider and apple cider donuts from a local farm. They also were provided with woven throw blankets to keep warm on a rather beautiful & sunny but windy morning. Everyone sat down and got cozy as they watched Nick wait at the alter for Ashley to arrive. These moments seemingly end up being a blur as there is so much emotion in the air. Tears are flowing and everyone is grinning ear to ear. All of sudden you hear the words “I do” and it’s all over. They were officially married and the moment that they’ve been waiting for finally happened.
Cocktail Hour & Reception
Once the adrenaline from the ceremony had calmed down, we moved into cocktail hour. This was an hour filled with live music, custom cocktails, corn hole and lounging by the fire. As cocktail hour came to and end, we all gathered for the reception. This is really where the magic came to life. Ashley and Nick are both fans of the films Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. They really wanted inspiration pulled from these films on their wedding day into their decor. Florals “growing” out of suitcases, guests names engraved on luggage tags and more. The attention to detail that went into this day was evident and it all turned out more beautiful than we ever could have imagined. You may also see that florals were a big component to this day.
Ashley really wanted the florals to feel like they were living in the space, so using warmer toned florals was key to bringing this vision to life. Flowers were even covering the vintage fireplace, cascading from the chandelier and enveloping the wedding cake. All in all… a florists dreams.
One common theme that you may notice throughout this day is food. Food was incredibly important to Ashley and Nick and they made that abundantly clear. Dinner was served cocktail style, where guests could go to each station and choose anything they wanted. Filled with farm-to-table cuisine such as butternut squash ravioli, mushroom and herb stuffing and even an artisanal grilled cheese soup station. Are you drooling yet? Oh and after dinner, guests had the option to go outside to roast s’mores by the fire.
The After Party
Just when you think this day couldn’t get any better, it did. After handing out party favors, guests were invited to follow Ashley and Nick to the after party on the property. There they were all able to enjoy an espresso bar as well as food from Jules Organic Thin Crust Pizza & Nina’s Waffles & Ice Cream. A perfect ending to an absolutely perfect day, don’t you think?
