Las Vegas Desert Wedding Portraits

post

March 18, 2022

So traveling is a BIG passion of mine… huge even. I love being able to explore new places whether that be to shoot a wedding/session or just for fun. Much like your go-to snack, there are some places that you just love to revisit. The type of places that set your soul on fire and never get boring. Ladies and gents… that place is Las Vegas, Nevada. The city that never sleeps (along with its counterpart, New York) or some of you may know it as Sin City. Every year for the past 4 years I have loved traveling there, but this time around I got to have one of the most beautiful sessions I have ever done. Keep scrolling to see some of these beautiful Las Vegas Desert Wedding Portraits.

Now one thing you’ll notice immediately is that Donia, our model, is drop dead gorgeous. Donia has been modeling for me for the last 4+ years of me going to Las Vegas. Naturally when the time came to book my yearly trip, we had to coordinate a time for us to meet & have our annual catchup/photoshoot. What some of you don’t know is that her husband, Preston, is in the military stationed in Hawaii. Fun fact: that’s actually where these two met! Up until this year, due to the distance we never got to shoot these two lovers together. In came 2022 and with impeccable timing, Preston & Donia were together helped make this vision of ours come to life.

On this day, we headed to Jean Roach Dry Lake Bed, which is about 30 minutes outside of Las Vegas. This area has hundreds of miles of trails so really it’s the perfect location if you’re looking for some open space & privacy. It seriously is one of my favorite locations to shoot at. On top of giving me that light and natural feel in my images, you really feel like you’re one with nature. You really can just let go and run around like no one is watching because…. well no one is. Okay, maybe I am but that’s it!

Donia and Preston came dressed to impress and boy did they show up. They looked straight out of an editorial magazine, so I was just dying to get them in front of my lens. Lucky for me, they also brought along their new pup, Hazel. You guys know I am a SUCKER for dogs, especially puppies, so I just about died and went to heaven. This session acted as a mix of their updated wedding portraits/family session. They wanted some photos with their new pup and trust me, I was not mad about it. Donia was holding this breathtakingly beautiful bouquet, thanks to MyloFleur Prod. Design Studio! We spent some time just taking photos with Hazel and some solo portraits before packing up and heading back home. Don’t get me wrong, I would have loved to have been there all day but that Las Vegas heat get’s to you for sure!

I love being able to step outside of my traditional scope of weddings and do something fun and different. Especially when you ever feel like you’re in a creative rut, going out and doing something truly inspiring to you and your craft can be so helpful. So if you’ve been looking for a sign to get out of that creative rut and get those creative juices flowing – this is it!
